Vw caddy ex british gas vent

Hi ive just recently got a ex british gas caddy and there's a large gas vent on the side door that's riveted on. I'm open to ideas I either want something more low profile putting on but I do not know what or how or to seal the current one to stop water getting in but I don't know what with and it would have to be black. I'm mot sure how to upload a picture but if you Google ex british gas caddy you'll see one with a black gas vent on the sliding door
Any ideas and thoughts welcome thanks

I’m in the same boat, I’m either going to get another door, or fill and paint the hole it leaves behind. Whatevers cheaper
