I’ve never modified a vehicle before, so no idea how you insure thing like that.
My caddy is going to be pretty heavily modified - lowered, vr6 engine, probably updated front end etc.
How much does it add to the insurance costs.
Another question, does anyone know if my car no claims discount can be used on a caddy as it’s a van?

Re: Modified van insurance
You might be surprised, some insurers might actually reduce their price because the more money you put into it the more likely you are to actually look after it.
A-plan are pretty highly rated for modified vans, Adrian flux are also alright
I used one of my NCDs from a car (always insure multiple cars separately because it's cheaper for some reason) no problem, worth checking with them though. Might find you get a better price if you phone them as well.
Best of luck with it!

Re: Modified van insurance
Speaking from my experience with Brentacre, I insured mine with basic mods, wheels, map, suspension, interior changes etc and they were really good on the price. I did get a previous quote on another vr6 van before I bought mine and it was cheaper than my audi a3.
With the no claims depends if it is your only car or 2nd car, mine was a 2nd car but they let me mirror my NCB over to the caddy policy once proof of NCB had been provided, worth an ask when you ring. If it's your only vehicle I believe you can use it but may have to be converted to commercial? (not 100% on this as went the 2nd car route)

Re: Modified van insurance
Another vote for Brentacre here. They insured my Caddy for an excellent price, covered all the mods and even told me that future mods won't take the price up as long as there's no big power/value increase. The guy that I spoke to was really knowledgeable too.

Brentacre again here. Premium went down this year again with them.
They also take into account your ncb on your car.

Another one for brentacre, decent price, their communication is spot on and premium doesn't go up for any further non power mods

Re: Modified van insurance
I’ve been using A plan for the last few years. They are the cheapest of them all for me. I’ve found the premium doesn’t go up for mods but commercial premiums seem to be more than cars.
They do ask that you notify them of any mods though. I just update my list every year.
