Moisture in the back/cargo

Post by MHH »

Hi!
Every time its raining a bit and I drive for a little while I get a lot of fog/moisture on the rear windows, I have tried to hose down the car with a friend on the inside with all the side panels and roof cover down to search for a leak - but cant find anything obvious. All door sealings are intact as well. Is this a common problem, or have I gotten myself a monday car? It will eventually drive me nuts haha... Its a Caddy Maxi 2010 pre facelift.

Best regards

The moisture could be anywhere in the caddy, there may be new water getting in or you may just have a build-up of condensation from normal use. The rain causes the glass surfaces to cool below the dew point of the inside air, thus condensing the moisture in the air.
You might find the cabin floor insulation is soaked, this is very common.

Try getting some extra ventilation going. Fan on a stage higher than usual for a few trips, wind deflectors which allow the window to be cracked open slightly help.
Make sure the air can escape via the vents in the rear panels (below the tail lights, behind the bumper).
