Do I have a dpf filter?

Post by Jayrey »

Hi,

I bought my Caddy on Sunday but have been laid up with flu ever since. So I turned my fevered mind to the Internet and found dpf paranoia.
Can anybody help me decide if I have a dpf and is it that bad if I do. It will be used for short trips with one or two good runs a week.

The evidence is.
2010 1.9tdi BLS engine.
The web suggests both dpf and non dpf were sold that year.
If I compare the the co2 emissions on my online dvla car tax form matches that of the dpf model. (really hoping this is a administrive error).

However,

No dpf light comes on when I turn the ignition on. Not even a short flash as some have said it would.

I have used the option list in the service manual and the relevent code appears to be,
'0GG - Emission standard EU4'
There is no sign of the code '7GG- Emission standard EU4 DPF Filter'.
Which suggests no dpf.

I think there's a thread on here but I don't have access. But will have soon. :D

Thanks for advice.

Hi, if you had a dpf filter you would see this light in the dash every time you turn the key.

Chees, I havent see that symbol or anything like it, I'll make sure in the morning.
I understand the CR engines are ok, but the TDIs are not happy with them.

Might see you about, we're often downward your way.

Looks like it. Thanks for confirming.

I just checked the co2 emissions and it's correct for no dpf (original data was bogus).

So it's night nurse, a large brandy and a worry free sleep.

I don't think any 1.9 Bls engines had Dpf on them, Thought it was only the 2.0l 140 that had Dpf and the later 1.6s.
