Recall on Tailgate Caddy 2K

Mine has been in this morning. It takes 20 minutes to do if it's just the bit that is recalled but what they don't say is that this is a two part recall, as the mounting brackets for the struts are the second part and this will take longer but according to the garage I went to mine was the first to have to be looked at for the second part of the recall......

Got a letter through last week, rung them they kept passing me on then said they would ring back... Never did BUT called into the local dealership today did it there and then in 20mins and offered to wash it for free! Happy Loui!

I've phoned my dealer twice and not had a reply back, too!

bit miffed really, as usually they are top notch and have been brilliant other than this. I'll give them another buzz tomorrow.

Would love to, mate. But I'm on a residential with 40 8/9 year olds for the rest of the week. Will leave it until half term.

I am in vw commercials stoke nearly 4 hours now also getting a dsg software update and gearbox oil change wayhey.

hi guys,

well I got back from france a week ago and the letter was waiting for me in my post ...

service was also due, so booked in to have both done at the same time.
yesterday following the service, all was reported as ok ... and 55H5 tailgate ball pin recall inspection was performed.
the vw van centre (sheffield) seemed to know all about this recall, but apparently there was no remedial attention required on my vehicle (2012 caddy maxi life).

it would be interesting to know how many uk/english & caddy2k forumites' vehicles (as a direct result of the recall) actually ended up needing such attention ??

I will have to give vw Shrewsbury a call as I've only had it a few weeks and as my log book is not back yet I can't see them knowing where I am if they send a letter

Checked MOT history online today and saw that my van needed to be recalled for the Tailgate struts to be sorted..
Might be worth checking online through the Gov website to see if anyone else's is being recalled.
