What colour will you be fitting out the interior of the rear ?

I'm thinking black carpet and antracite alcantara

I've spent way too much time on silly small things like these threaded inserts in the rear door handle the oem brass ones always seize to the bolts and you nearly always mess them up, so spent hours tracking down a suitable replacement, managed to find these at bauhaus, with the right outer diameter and thread pitch but in m5 inners, so got those and drilled and tapped to m6 etc..


Had some new gaskets in my stash so changed them out


Touran dash and fabric carpet swap underway!


I had a mk6 steering wheel intended for my mk2 caddy sitting on the self, and i figured i might aswell put it in here for now! The plan has always been a mk7 wheel, but i kinda dig this, so it might stay for a bit. I really need to upgrade my stereo also, but not enough time and funds right now so a future project.

I can recommend it to anyone doing a touran dash swap, that you do it at the same time as a windscreen replacement if yours is due for that!

Im digging how the rear end is turning out! I ditched my black 3rd brakelight that had started cracking after less than a year anyway, for a nice dark red one that matches the tails

i have 11 days left before the event that is my deadline! I doubt i will have the time to have it fully de-nibbed and polished for that, so might just have to roll with the defects in all their glory and do that stuff later

Getting there with the interior, the dash is mostly complete, but i'm missing a few things here and there.
also installed a leather e-brake handle with gray stitching and a matte chrome button, and a audi a3 shiftknob, i have also changed out all the early light gray plastics for later spec dark gray


Starting to look tidy in here, its just a shame its seems impossible to find scuff free interior plastics, stuff like that bugs me. But i'm detailing everything as much as i can

I just realized i have not elaborated about my turbo configuration since i found out what i actually had.
So might aswell do that now before i have assembled everything that covers it up.

So this van is equipped with a full darkside developments top mount GTB2260VK turbo kit, from like 2012 or maybe even earlier, its been on this van for most of its life anyway. I do belive it has upgraded injectors aswell but no idea what %. The van is quick

I didnt bother keeping the updates going as i got no response, and was on a time crunch getting closer to my deadline anyway.

I managed to get it mostly finished, and a lot of people really liked it at the show!
I didnt have time to paint the wheels, but i'll get around to that soon.
The interior is about 80% ready, i'll get some shots of that posted in the next few days, but i have been camping in the van all weekend so it really needs a tidy up haha

The end result looks great, I love the colour.
Nice to see a first generation Caddy2k restored to such a high quality.

Heres the current status of the interior, i have a mix of mk3 facelift and mk4 trim, and apparently the mk4 parts are a darker shade of gray, so i have some mismatch going on, also painted a bunch of stuff in U-pol Plast-x 5 dark gray, wich is basically a dead on match to the mk4 bits, but a bit too dark compared to the touran and facelift mk3 bits


I'm loving the mk8 seats, really comfy! I would like to find matching alcantara and do the headliner, pillars and door panel inserts in it, i plan on replacing the light gray bits on the belts for black later


Headliner done in carpet for now, and the parcel shelf, pillars and sun visors painted

Carpeted the rear door panels. the back of the van is still far from done. Turned out the carpet i had in storage had gotten some mice damage, i could only use some of it, and had no time to order more




Gonna install these soon, just have to get the paint in those areas buffed up, as any dust in the paint with show trough the film


I have more things planned for the interior like mk5 golf gti pedals, velour carpets and more matte chrome bits

The end result is looking amazing! Top job there mate, it really shows how much of work you have put in to it. Looking forward for future updates
