Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Hi guys,
I would like to ask you if you have any information where to put "old" halogen DRL wires to new pins (supporting LED DRL) in new BCM after changing lamps to bi-xenon LED. My old BCM was 086P and now I have 087 AC Z15. After I swap BCM my LED lights was working ok (old wiring was halogen DRL in black connector pin 6 and the second one was in brown connector, now I don't remember the pin number), but a friend of mine who helped me in this retrofitting told me that those pins should be moved to new pins in new BCM supporting LED DRL. Someone from RossTech forum helped me with pinouts description in which I found that Right and Left DRL bulbs are in PIN 6 and 28 in Black connector. But he wasn't sure if Caddy has the same pinouts. Maybe I shouldn't touch/move any DRL pins in Caddy after retrofiting bixenons with LED?
Another thing is Coding Byte18 in BCM. Should it be 74 (for 2012 caddy with bixenons led) or something else?

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Here is the complete BCM pinout for FL Caddy. You should be able to find what you looking for
Activation in VCDS can be tricky for many different things. I actually came across few weird ones myself, for example when fitting interior monitoring I had to select the switch being in drivers door, not the pillar as it is as it wouldnt work otherwise...even when pillar option was also there
Remember to save the VCDS scan for the module you will be working on before you change anything too

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Thanks a lot. So now I think the first stage is complete LED in 0 and dimmed in park lights position. When turn signal is on LED is off. I forgot to check if LED is on (or on but dimmed when low beam lights are on). BTW should LEDs be on or off when low beam lights are active?
Second step is to find a solution to my 55 Xenon Range Module. Maybe I've got some bad wiring to CAN gateway?
Here is my problem. When I connect VCDS I've got errors (see autoscan). When I clear all faults I got static cornering light working ok and high beam lights (shutter works) working. Dynamic cornering doesn't work. When I move my steering wheel xenons are not moving left or right. When I go to Adaptation (in 55 xenon module range) and select Presentation Mode I see how lights move following my steering wheel moves. When I start the engine and go for about 10m it stops working. I still have static cornering and high beams active. When I turn the engine off and take off the key and put it back to ON I don't have high beams and static cornering works for about few minutes when driving. If someone could help me also with correct wiring the range module and auto leveling sensor to CAN gateway and where else it should be placed. I've got everything connected but maybe Caddy has something different in wiring then any other popular VW models.

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
My leds are on the whole time, when on sidelights setting they are on very bright, on auto they are slightly dimmed during the day and with low beam they are on too but not as strong as sidelight setting. During the day when indicating they go off depending on which side you are turning. <--- I ticked the option in VCDS for this, it wasnt set like that from factory. Hope it makes sense?

Have you wired your self levelling module to a constant live or an ignition live?

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Hi again, I had no time to test some "settings" so now I'm back. I had Pins 4 from headlights connectors (black cables) and the one from xenon range module (55) put in fuse box without permanent 12V. We change it (with my friend) and high beams work everytime when I turn the ignition on / off /on /off and so on, but static cornering works as it was before putting those 3 cables in fuse box to permanent 12V. So when the ignition is on and I clear all faults everything is working fine. When ignition is off and then on again it gives faults like below.
I also have High Beam Assist Mirror installed, but I have "fault: Light Assist" info on dashboard and it's not so important at the moment.
If you again have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks
@AutosoundBlackpool: I have original connectors from Touran and pins from halogens moved to new connectors so it looks OEM.
@stan-the-man: Thanks, I've got the wiring for caddy bixenons + LED and all looks ok. My LEDs when OFF and AUTO they are bright 100% and when in parking light position they are dimmed as well as during the evening/night together with Xenons. They are also OFF when turning signal left/right is ON (when no xenons).
Is there anyone with factory installed xenons+LED or working after retrofitting to place their coding? Maybe the problem is also in coding 55 Xenon Range Module?

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Do you want me to look up my coding so you can try it and see what happens?
Possibly something is not ticked in coding section if you are 100% wiring is done correctly. If you look me up I posted my vcds auto scan in one of my topics about mfsw.
Also regarding high beam assist, is it working ok? I'm actually fitting it to mine in next two weeks. Did you enable it in BCM? What year is your Caddy? So I presume the wiring for it came from touran as your xenon lights?

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Hi. I found your autoscan. I'm gonna try some of your coding. High Beam Assist is taken from Touran (original harness). It's "ticked" in CAN instruments and in 9 BCM/CECM. No errors as you can see in my autoscan, but I have a warning on dashboard FAULT: LIGHT ASSIST (only few seconds after ignition is on). Now I'm trying to focus on those crazy bixenons and make them work properly after that ... High Beam Assistant;)
UPDATE:
I see one difference in coding 55 Xenon Range Module. In Byte 1 you've got 06 and me 16. We have different rear axle/suspension...something chosen. When I choose 06 it gives one fault I can't erase (I will post it later). I also see that you've got Mid BCM 086S. Your LEDs work ok because you've got pin 10 and 12 in headlight connector bridged? And last thing ... Caddy has only one auto leveling sensor (rear-left), am I right?

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Marty, did you do the whole swap of interior loom/BCM + xenon loom from Touran into your Caddy? or is it just partially??
My BCM is highline for a Caddy and one thing is certain, the Caddy BCM and Touran BCM are wired differently.
I will study the diagrams for both setups (Caddy/Touran) and will see if there is any differences.
Im sure you will sort this

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Just partially. My BCM is new from VW dealer to Caddy (087 AC - the newest possible). I know that for example Touran has a different pin in BCM for left or right DRL (I don't remember which one - it's not important).
And if we are talking about level sensors ETKA shows only one in 4 versions (short-wheel base/short-wheel base but 4Motion/long-wheel base/long-wheel base but 4Motion). I have short-wheel base no 4Motion. I also asked at VW dealer and they also told me that there's only one (left rear). They were installing my level sensor too. BUT ... Elsa or erWin scheme (the same;)) shows in diagram 39/5 rear left vhicle level sender, front left vehicle level sender, Control unit for cornering light and headlight range control.
The same scheme shows connection from 55 Xenon Range Module (pin 23 to SC13) to fuse box. There is written A199 (Positive connection 4 (15a) in dash panel wiring harness) and then 13B (what does B mean) -> SC13. I know that this question is a bit lame but what CONNECTION 4 means? I know that 15a is start after ignition.

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
It's been a while but we already did it.
When I came here with the problem, three wires in fusebox were connected to 3 (small) fuses (12V when ignition ON). After that we moved wires to constant 12V. It has only added high beams working. Last Saturday we moved these three wires (2 x pins 4 from headlights and 1 from 55 Headlight Range) as stated in erWin/ELSA (pins 4 to fuses 25 and 26 - big fuses and from 55 Headlight Range to Fuse 13 - all 12V when ignition ON nothing connected to a constant 12V) and all started to work as it should. I'm a newbie so I don't know if the problem was in connecting pins 4 from headlight to small fuses or ... well I don't know. But I know that I'm very happy;) after 2 months of thinking, following many forums and so on. Thank you @stan-the-man for all your suggestions!

Re: Caddy 2012 bi-xenons with LED
Marty, great to hear you got it sorted
.
I have same fault as you for HBA "fault: light assist" in mine now as I finally managed to wire up the high beam assist mirror.
After doing research on it it seems its all to do with software of BCM. And it looks like it wont work for us...
I came across a German guy who made a module for people who have this issue but he no longer makes them or doesn't want to. Unfortunately it looks like we are stuck unless someone is brave enough to start messing with bits and bytes which I'm not very confident to do.
I'm actually looking at swapping my bcm with touran one which involves swapping some wires etc. and is not guaranteed to fully work as there probably won't be sliding doors option or rear left/right boot doors etc. Its two different BCMs all together so it won't be just a straight swap
