Bulkhead Removal

Post by LEWISREES7 »

Hi everyone!
I'm in the process of turning my Caddy Maxi into a camper. I've removed the bulkhead and this leaves a very bad finish behind (obviously because it's missing the bulkhead. Is there any way (apart from cutting the bulkhead) to aquire these? A search on eBay has come up with np results...
Thank you! :D

"Caddy Life" trims are what you need, other than cutting down your bulkhead

@DeanWhit that part you linked is the standard cover for models with a bulkhead.

Without spending anything, if you look for 'bulkhead delete' you can see how to trim yours down.
Its daunting looking, but really not that difficult as long as you plan the cut....it does a funny thing and sort of half turns near the knobby bit.....youll know what I mean if you attempt it!
When you carpet it, it looks very Good, almost factory, imho👍

Jigsaw and a file and DIY. I marked mine up in-situ before removing as found the top part on each upright to be quite bulky and easy to do wrong.

Despite what you say, I would definitely reccomend trimming your original bulkhead, I have done in my Maxi, it looks stock, just covered in some 4 way stretch carpet. 1 hour job really

Looks daunting but it's really easy to do. Like the previous posts say, you just need a saw of some type (preferably one that's easy to control) a sander and a marker pen. Took me about 20 mins to do both.ImageImageImage

Cheers all! Think I’ll have to have a hand with this off the father in law! But like you said and the photos can show, looks really professional. I’ll give it a craic. Cheers guys.
