Xenon obdeleven

Post by Scotscad »

Hi, can anyone help me code xenons into my mk4 with obdeleven as thats all i have? Help needed as i get headlights going off when i pull the handbrake. The headlights come on when i start the van even tho they are switched off.

I don't know about coding the xenons, there are a lot of lighting options in Obdeleven but tbh from what I've seen it's a bit of a minefield coding lights and some options are not even available on the Caddy even though they are listed in the app.

One comment, there's a standard coding to have the DRLs go off when the handbrake is applied, and they always come on when started, so it sounds like your van thinks the headlights are the DRLs? The connector may need to be re-pinned.

One other thing is to take a full backup of your coding on the BCM for the lighting as some folk have done a bit of tweaking and the whole thing has gone nuts, refusing to work properly even when standard byte settings were re applied by hand and only a full coding download from a backup fixed it.

There are lots of stuff on vortex about byte 18 for lighting options which seem to work on the Golf but I've not had much luck with those on the Caddy.

Central electrics never seemed to connect on the Caddy with Obdeleven but then I realised it only connects to that module when the ignition was off, other modules work fine when it's on or running. Also a lot of the descriptions for various bits in the lighting are missing, blank or half in German. I posted on the company support forum but got nowhere.

It's possible, but not sure that's it. I got one from AliExpress, really cheap and good quality part, not fitted mine yet. Came In 7-10 days. Was under a tenner.

Do you have the light sensor on the dash? It brings the dash clocks lights on when you drive through a flyover for example in daylight. You need that for auto lights.

I didn't code mine in, i got mine coded in locally.
It can be done with obd apparently but how I wouldn't know unfortunately.
Not sure if this helps but I'll sling it up anyway Image

For the handbrake coding go to
09 Central Electrics
Long coding~ Byte 11~ bit 0
Daytime Running lights ~ tick the box (active / not active )

but the english translation is wrong. It should say DRLs off with handbrake.

But if you have a MFD go to Byte 15 ~ bit 7 and tick the box that way you can toggle it on or off from the menu display.

So 6F and 6D are the long coding numbers to check the difference between them you need to click on the Hex and add manually... the green highlights the difference.ImageImage
